A wedding day goes by so quickly ! If you ask former brides and grooms, most will tell you that they didn’t see the day go by. Here are 10 tips to make the most of your wedding day. Spend time with your guests, chat with your grandparents, taste the delicious appetizers and laugh out loud with your friends. It’s a wonderful day to celebrate your love surrounded by your tribe ! Stay calm and don’t waste too much time responding or flipping through your wedding timeline looking for information for a vendor.

How to do it ?
One thing is for sure, don’t cram too many events into the wedding day. Sometimes a chic venue with a beautiful garden and swimming pool is enough to fill the day. Be sure to minimize transportation, as this is something that could take up a lot of your time. We all hate being stuck in traffic, so definitely not on your wedding day!

I invite you to read on for more tips and get the most out of your wedding day.

HERE ARE 10 TIPS TO MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR WEDDING.

CREATE YOUR WEDDING BUDGET

The first crucial step in planning your wedding is to know the budget you would like to spend on. This fundamental element defines the overall financial envelope for your event and determines the amount you are willing to invest. It is common for many couples to find that their initial budget is not enough. However, don’t worry, you will always have the option to customize it later. This is one of the reasons why it is advisable to start planning at least a year in advance. A wedding is full of little details to consider to make your special day an unforgettable experience. Opt for highly recommended providers and surround yourself with a team of professionals to optimize both your own experience and that of your guests.

HIRE PROFESSIONALS

It would be unfortunate and stressful to entrust one of the most memorable days of your life to an amateur. In Belgium, you will find many wedding professionals, such as florists, makeup artists, caterers, entertainment providers and stylists.

Take the time to select providers who understand your preferences, your style and the atmosphere you want to create. The wedding is above all a human event, which is why I recommend that you get to know them personally, beyond their artistic skills. It is essential to surround yourself with people you enjoy spending time with, as you will share many moments with them. They must be flexible, caring and talented.

When your wedding vendors are experienced and masters of their field, they work discreetly to ensure every detail goes smoothly. Your wedding planner will oversee all aspects, allowing you to enjoy cocktails with your guests in peace. Ultimately, isn’t that what we all want?

HIRE A WEDDING PLANNER

For a stress-free day and complete peace of mind, hire a professional wedding planner. He will take care of every detail. Not only will he plan and coordinate the wedding day, but he will also be involved in the months and weeks leading up to your big celebration. This means you can fully enjoy the moment with your guests, with complete confidence, knowing they will have an exceptional experience.

MEET YOUR VENDORS

Meeting your vendors before the wedding will make the day go more smoothly. Even if you are very busy, take the time to meet them, because it is important to create human contact. You can discuss your expectations and make sure you are all on the same page. If unfortunately you can’t meet them in person, a video call also works.

Also, if you are hosting a welcome brunch or dinner, consider inviting the team of photographers and videographers. This is a great way to break the ice, both for you, the vendors and your guests. By having them meet before the wedding day, everyone will be more relaxed and you will get more natural photos.

ORGANIZE A WELCOME EVENT

A welcome dinner, drinks along the beach or in the garden is a great idea if you haven’t seen your guests for a long time. It is also an opportunity for members of both families to get to know each other, this will make your wedding day more natural by avoiding awkward moments. We all have one or the other affinity with certain people. In addition, it is also an excellent time for the photographer and videographer to make themselves known to your guests. The moments captured will be much more natural on your wedding day !

LEAVE YOUR PHONE AWAY !

More and more, we tend to stay connected to our phones. If there’s ever a day to put it aside, it’s your wedding day. Before the ceremony, turn it off and give it to a member of your family to fully enjoy this day ! Of course, there will be photos, videos and messages to see, but save them for the next day, it will give you a first memory of this wonderful day. Also, I don’t recommend keeping it in your pockets because it never looks very nice in photos.

RELAX

It’s difficult to have a calm and serene night before an event that will change your life as a couple. Book yourself a spa treatment to relax. This will eliminate any tension you might feel and take the opportunity to give a manicure (don’t forget the groom !). It’s always more elegant to have beautiful hands in photos with rings.

A DELICIOUS BREAKFAST

The preparations can sometimes seem long, especially if you have several bridesmaids. Prepare a breakfast, not too messy and easy to eat or inform the hotel staff to prepare delicious meals for you, without forgetting the champagne ! The atmosphere will only be better and so will the photos.

SHADE

If you’re getting married in summer, think about shaded areas during the heat. Especially if you want to have a secular ceremony outside. There’s nothing worse than baking under the blazing sun. And if unfortunately this is impossible, provide umbrellas matching your theme and refreshments for you and your guests.

KIDS

There are two fairly clear-cut scenarios: either children are welcome or the bride and groom prefer to avoid the noise and stress of children. If you have children, plan a play area with a nanny to watch over them all evening. This will reduce stress on parents and allow them to come and chat with you in peace. Don’t forget a sleeping area for the little ones.
